Marilyn Rondon Solo Exhibition
Marilyn Rondón is a Venezuelan born illustrator currently living and working in Brooklyn, NY by way of Miami, FL. Her style draws influence from the heavily illustrated children's books she read as a youth and over time has evolved into a look that is distinctively her own. She will be displaying recent gouache paintings, her illustrated journals and selling fully illustrated self published zines of past sketchbooks. On this occasion she has transformed The Studio by drawing her first large scale piece, a 15'x12' mural using gold Sharpie paint markers. You can find her work at www.totallystokedonyou.com.The Studio is a collective creative space and darkroom located at Broadway and Thornton streets in Brooklyn, NY. Formerly a dance studio, The Studio is now home to nail art events, jewelry showcases and gallery shows and is becoming a hub for the local creative community. For this event we've joined with Sharpie and will be giving away packs of Sharpie Metallics to our first 50 Guests. Sailor Jerry and Redbull will be providing us with beverages and DJ Dom Leon will be turning up the space with your favorite hip-hop songs of past and present throughout the evening.
